POLICIES, PROCEDURES, & GUIDELINES:

  • Prior to participating, participants should review the SCGA’s Policies & Procedures.
  • The SCGA's mask policy follows in accordance with the CDC and the California Department of Public Health. This is subject to change due to any local guidelines or site protocols. Click here to learn more.

 

FORMAT:

  • 54-hole stroke play championship
  • 84 players will play 36-holes on Monday & Tuesday, July 11 & 12.
  • Cut to the low 30 scores and ties for the final 18-holes on Wednesday, July 13.
  • Ties, for first place only, will be determined with a three-hole aggregate playoff.
  • Awards will be given to those who finish in 1st through 5th place.

 

REGISTRATION:

All participants are required to check in with the SCGA upon arriving Monday morning. A table will be located near the event lawn.

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS:

  • Players may plan for practice rounds at their own expense. All participants will have access to one practice round – Fee $100, includes golf cart.
  • To book a practice round, call the Santa Ana CC Golf Shop at (714) 556-3000.
  • Limited times are available as follows:
    • Tuesday June 14                              After 2:30 p.m.
    • Thursday June 16                            Before 9 a.m., After 2:30 p.m.
    • Wednesday June 22                       Before 9 a.m., After 2:30 p.m.
    • Saturday June 25                            After 2:30 p.m.
    • Wednesday June 29                       Before 9 a.m., After 2:30 p.m.
    • Thursday June 30                            Before 9 a.m., After 2:30 p.m.
    • Thursday July 7                                Before 9 a.m., After 2:30 p.m.
    • Saturday July 9                                After 2:30 p.m.
    • Sunday July 10                                 After 2:30 p.m.
  • Push carts will only be permitted during the championship
  • Practice rounds are a privilege, not a right. The SCGA works with a variety of facilities throughout the course of the year, all of which have unique policies and procedures when it comes to practice rounds. These opportunities will be provided at the sole discretion of the host facility.
  • We are guests and must follow all facility policies and guidelines when on property. Behavior during practice rounds will be subject to the SCGA Code of Conduct.

 

STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS: 

  • Starting times and pairings will be e-mailed to players and posted on scga.org/senioram one week in advance of the championship.
  • Starting times for Rounds 1 (Monday) & 2 (Tuesday) will range from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. off Holes #1 & #10.
  • Starting times for Round 3 (Wednesday) will range from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. off Hole #1.
  • Lead groups should plan to be at their assigned tee 10 minutes in advance of their starting time. Subsequent groups are encouraged to arrive once the preceding group has teed off. Players arriving late will be penalized under Rule 5.3a of the Rules of Golf. For example, the 9:00 a.m. starting time is defined as 9:00:00, and players arriving after that time are considered late.

 

TEES & YARDAGE:   

  • All yardages and course information can be found in the “Yardage Information” tab located on the Championship Portal.

 

DRIVING RANGE:

  • The driving range will be available 1 hour prior to the first tee time on each morning of the championship.  
  • Range balls will be provided compliments of Santa Ana CC and the SCGA.

 

FOOD SERVICE & PURCHASES:

  • The Bunker bar (located near 6 and 13 tee) will be open each day.
  • Lunch will be provided for players after play on Monday and Tuesday of the championship.
  • Cash and reciprocal charge will be the only option accepted for payment.   

 

RULES OF PLAY:

 

GOLF CARTS, PULL/PUSH CARTS:

  • Golf carts are optional at the player’s expense ($20 per player).
  • There will be a maximum of two carts per group and two bags per cart. Players wishing to ride will be expected to share a cart with another player.
  • Each player is entitled to one seat in a cart. If a player brings a caddie, the caddie may ride provided there is a vacant seat in one of the carts. Otherwise, either the player or the caddie must walk.
  • Drivers must be at least 16 years of age (or older if club policy dictates).
  • Pull or push carts are permitted during the championship, not during practice rounds.   

 

CADDIES & SPECTATORS:

  • Players may provide their own caddie (see section on golf carts).
  • Spectators are permitted but are not allowed in carts. Spectators must adhere to all policies set forth by the facility.

 

DRESS CODE:

Appropriate golf attire must be worn, including adhering to any facility-specific policies.

 

CANCELATIONS & REFUNDS:

  • To withdraw for any reason prior to the start of a SCGA competition, a player must notify the SCGA Championships & Golf Operations Department at champs@scga.org.
  • Failure to notify the SCGA will subject the player to suspension from future SCGA competitions.
  • Refund Policy:
    • Cancelation prior to the entry closing date: Full refund less a $20 administrative fee.
    • Cancelation after the entry closing date and more than 48 hours prior to the start of the competition: 50% of the entry fee.
    • Cancelation within 48 hours of the start of the competition: No refund.
